I remember hearing about it when I was younger and the fact that one of his daughters was named Kristen (my name) made me relate to it a tad too much and I suffered some chilling nightmares with it at the root. Pretty sure I'd never want to read a book about it as a result.Kristenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07651401312450990123noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7211910878271447535.post-7487436440019760002012-11-02T23:24:18.104-04:002012-11-02T23:24:18.104-04:00I have more than a passing interest in the history...I have more than a passing interest in the history of this case, for a close friend of ours, James C. Fox, is the federal judge here in Wilmington who presided at the most recent appeal. Whatever the merits of the case, it's history is fascinating and raises all sorts of legal questions.

The original trial was held about 45 or so years ago, and many of the witnesses are now dead and much of the physical evidence corrupted. While I have no clue about how Judge Fox will rule, it won't be anytime soon; he will have 60 days to issue his opinion, and the clock on that won't begin until the appeal has been submitted, and neither side has even received the trial transcript. Talk about the "mill of the gods grinding slowly!"

As for the book at hand, you have given it a fair review. Some of these writers, Joe McGinnis being chief, have made a living off this case. Nothing illegal or unethical about that, of course, but they 44do make me wonder about their obsession with MacDonalds

Enjoy your visit in PA, and have a good trip north.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7211910878271447535.post-83223292635122820842012-11-01T00:49:04.684-04:002012-11-01T00:49:04.684-04:00Even though it wasn't really your thing, I app...Even though it wasn't really your thing, I appreciate your being on the tour! trishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10688001590373132381noreply@blogger.com
