Butler is a cool guy and fine singer, and that Josh kid is an excellent multi-instrumentalist. He's a lot like Darin Aldridge-they can play anything and play it well.

I fear the gas crunch is gonna make it difficult for festivals and 'cause a lot of last minute changes in line-ups. Promoters will have to work hard to get the word out about who is really there. Folks get real mad if they come to a festival and the band they came to see ain't there.

We ended up with a couple of gigs this weekend and didn't get to Brevard. Was it good? I hope the bluegrass roots movement to draft Sam Bush and running mate Tim O'Brien is going well.

Dr. BAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7211910878271447535.post-23615802406317920412008-09-13T08:22:00.000-04:002008-09-13T08:22:00.000-04:00Welcome back to Carolina, where folks come for the...Welcome back to Carolina, where folks come for the barbecue and stay for the angioplasty. (That's relevant to nothing.) It sounds like a great lineup there, and we'd like to be with you but will instead be part of the annual Cape Fear Bluegrass Festival in Fort Fisher this weekend. Can't compare lineups, but the fun will be equal.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7211910878271447535.post-85024966848017552512008-09-12T10:23:00.000-04:002008-09-12T10:23:00.000-04:00Concerning the picture of the teenaged Doerful fam...Concerning the picture of the teenaged Doerful family I believe that the fellow on bass this time is Eddie who is a multi-instrumentalist that usually plays mandolin. In my opinion the band has improved dramatically since the parents got off the stage and took the little kids with them. If you like progressive bluegrass you will love the very talented Doerful family.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
