Chaos is always a bit frightening but in the end I think good will come. This sounds like an interesting read.Kansas Scouthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15744438882831933314noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7211910878271447535.post-34632458758898699202009-08-06T21:46:25.216-04:002009-08-06T21:46:25.216-04:00Ted,
I am a Doc for a living and not an expert on...Ted,

I am a Doc for a living and not an expert on this, but I find your analysis right on. I believe this is a very important book for people who want to understand what happened to country music.

I've have the good fortune to hear what folks in Nashville like Larry Shell (look at his Kill Nashville Pop movement) and Jerry Salley have to say. My guess is they would agree that the curent system is unwieldy and leaves too many music lovers out of the loop as to getting to choose the music they want to hear.

Commercial radio only benefits a very few people, and it isn't the artists, esp the rank and file folks who make 98.8% of the good music that makes my life better.

I understand Reba McIntyre has also spoken on this subject quite eloquently.

I am sad to say that medicine also got drug into being a business first and a love second to too many people. Years ago we had an old Doc who would sit at the back of every staff meeting and listen. Regardless of the issue at hand, he always came to the same conclusion.

"Gentlemen," he'd say, "something is wrong here. I don't know exactly what it is, but I think it has something to do with money."

I believe the same conclusion can be applied to today's country and pop music.

Dr. BDr. Tom Bibeyhttp://drtombibey.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
