Early in my subscription to XM, Bluegrass Junction regularly carried live (recorded) feeds from bluegrass festivals. This event from as important an event as MACC heralds the return of these much enjoyed radio events. The bands included in these Labor Day weekend broadcasts are a real treat. Of particular interest is the Dudley Connell & Friends program. Promoter Darrel Adkins is widely known for his ability to draw together groups of musicians into super presentations. This set of traditional bluegrass songs featured Connell’s irrepressible energy and good humor, which enlivened everyone else’s performance.
If you’re near your satellite radio this coming weekend, tune in to Bluegrass Junction and listen to these fine sets.
